What does a first session with you look like?
Above all, I strive to provide an environment free of judgment. Nobody wants to feel shamed or judged when they share something with another person and yet it is very common for a person to say they felt judged by their therapist. When a person leaves a session with me, I hope they will feel heard and understood. There is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy and I believe progress should be continually evaluated. My goal is for you to better understand yourself and ways you may improve your life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use an integrative approach to therapy, meaning I use different styles of therapy in my practice. I use a variety of modalities and often combine classic insight-oriented therapy with a more modern approach of recognizing and changing unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving. I also practice EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address past trauma.
