In our early sessions, I aim to build a strong alliance with the individual, to get to know the person, not a diagnosis. I strive to efficiently capture information and work with the individual to translate their desires into actionable steps. I will provide resources such as books, audio and apps that can be utilized outside of sessions to facilitate a process of healing and growth. Additionally, I'll recommend practices and strategies that I have witness helped many, including myself, achieve more optimal states of wellbeing. If you're up for it, there can be homework involved-but no pressure! My goal is to empower you with tools and insights that you can use in your daily life.
I employ heavy doses of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness-based practice, which integrate quite nicely. Within that broad umbrella, I lean on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP). I also have experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am always seeking to grow and tailor the experience to the unique needs and desires of the individual I am collaborative with, so I will implement anything I think is appropriate and effective. I welcome outside resources to help guide the process.
