What does a first session with you look like?

I like to make the sessions proactive and interactive. I believe in treating a person as a whole. This means addressing: the body, mind and soul connection. During any given session, we will explore feelings, cognitive process and behavior. I invite patients to bring up a situation that they would like to explore and change. We then practice different techniques to manage or change the situation during the session. Once the patient has been able to create coping skills to transform or manage the situation, he or she will be exhorted to apply those techniques to this and other events in their lives. Therapy is a collaborative process. I am here to support you gaining the knowledge, skills, and motivation to live and embrace the life that you would like to have.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I use a variety of tools and methods to explore with patients. I also provide information about books, videos, and websites that you could utilize as reference and guidelines whenever you need them. In between session, patients can keep a journal so they can write their progress, questions to ask in upcoming sessions, and coping skills effectiveness.
