What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. With my assistance, you can become the best version of yourself sooner than you thought possible.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Alesia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor with 4 years of experience assisting individuals, couples, and families with current challenges. Her personal approach to motivating clients in their treatment is to tell them, I m not the expert on who you are, but I ll help you discover ways to improve your circumstances. Alesia specializes in anxiety, depression, adjustment, grief, trauma, relationship issues, stress and anger management via coping skills, and gender identity. Alesia completed her Master of Arts (M.A.) at the University of Central Florida. Throughout her internships, she has helped many understand the importance of their mental health and how to establish a basis for emotional regulation mixed with self-validation. Working with clients on treatment planning is a strength of hers. Alesia establishes goals/treatment planning through a collaborative assessment process utilizing advanced motivational interviewing counseling skills. This includes evidence-based practices and the use of measured-based care screening/assessments. She is also trained to assess and take appropriate action with those experiencing suicidal ideation. Alesia recognizes there are many people suffering in silence. She has been complimented on her ability to provide a safe space to externalize, learn and grow. She is fortunate to have assisted clients from all walks of life, ages, and gender identities, with ease and professionalism. Alesia is also known for providing clients with mindfulness needed from an honest perspective. She does not tell you what you want to hear, but rather helps you to explore current barriers with openness, empathy, and coping skill HW assignments. If you are ready to do the work inside (and outside) of sessions, open to receiving assistance for your highest good, and want to take back control of your thoughts, emotions, and actions, schedule an appointment with Alesia today. She looks forward to meeting you.
