What does a first session with you look like?
I will always meet you where you’re at each session. If you need to vent, I’m here to listen. If you need an objective perspective, I’m here to help you see a situation in a new way. If you’re ready to process trauma, I’m with you every step of the way. I will validate your emotions, while teaching you healthy ways to maintain a stable mood and foster healthy relationships. We will discuss the whole picture: nutrition, relationships, activity level, self-care, work-life balance. It’s all connected.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is particularly helpful with trauma. I also utilize a person-centered approach, establishing a trusting and genuine therapeutic relationship. I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to help you identify, challenge and replace unhelpful thinking patterns. I use an Existential approach to encourage empowerment and ownership of your goals in the therapy process.
