What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

The person you work with in therapy is who I am outside of therapy. I am authentic and fully transparent. I will challenge you (in a kind and compassionate way) because I believe in therapists being honest with their clients and not just supportive. I ask a lot of questions and share feedback - I don't just sit and listen. I want to work collaboratively with you to make the changes you want to see in yourself and in your life. I will always check in with you about the work we're doing, whether it's helping you the way you hoped it would, and whether we need to change anything to improve the experience. I'm hard to offend and very open to feedback - it's your session, so I want you to use it as you see fit (so long as we're doing the important work).

Work History

I've hopped back and forth across the TN/NC border since I completed undergrad (between ETSU and App State). I love this area, and always envisioned staying local and giving back to the community. I've been working in college counseling centers since 2013 and really love working with young adults. I started researching eating disorders in undergrad as part of an academic program and haven't looked back. Once I got into therapy, I knew it would be my specialty. I have lived experience of an eating disorder, which influences how I understand the experiences of my clients. Eating disorders never come alone, so I also have a lot of familiarity in working with those with trauma, depression, and anxiety as well.
