What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Alissa Thompson is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago and underwent specialized training in child psychiatry. She has ten years of experience in caring for individuals who face mental health and developmental conditions within both clinic and hospital settings. Alissa provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy to children and young adults. Alissa is committed to being fully present during care and assisting clients in improving their quality of life. She believes in recommending care that is evidence based, holistic, and tailored to the client's needs and goals. In her spare time, Alissa enjoys yoga, reading, and dining out.
