What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Allison Layman is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing since 2011. She graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Masters degree in Psychology with a clinical focus. Allison is trained in a variety of modalities, including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Grief Recovery, Gottman Couples Counseling and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. She believes that individuals are multifaceted and views people in the larger context of their life and relationships. Her main areas of focus include anxiety, grief, trauma and relationship issues. In her free time, Allison enjoys staying active, practicing yoga and mindfulness as well as spending time with friends and family.
