What does a first session with you look like?

Clients can expect to feel empowered, motivated, and equipped with new tools after our sessions together. You will learn techniques you can use in real life situations, and your confidence in making lasting change will start from day one of our work together. (If you have questions about appointment scheduling, or using Grow Therapy to access sessions with me please reach out to our team at 786-755-1863)

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My primary treatment method is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. This can, at times, include homework assignments (like tracking thoughts-feelings-behaviors on a T-F-B chart, journaling, utilizing mindfulness techniques, etc) and engaging in "tough talk" to challenge those unhelpful thought patterns creating negative feelings. While CBT is the primary therapeutic format I utilize, I always utilize Person-Centered Therapeutic treatment planning - *your* goals and *your* own experiences guide the work we will do together, and therapy is conducted in a supportive and encouraging environment. You can also expect that most of our sessions will remain solution-focused and we will look to alleviate mood or behavioral concerns in a long-lasting and efficient way!
