What does a first session with you look like?

In our first session I will provide a screening and assessment service, so we can discuss your specific needs and goals to make sure you feel we are a good fit together. Then we will co create a treatment plan of goals that you would like to work on. I will provide time to support our getting to know each other, to help build our familiarity and trust in the therapeutic relationship. In the next sessions, we will get to work on your goals, primarily through the use of EMDR therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a psychotherapy which focuses on healing the brain from past traumas. This therapy has over 30 years of documented efficacy, showing before and after brain scan changes. More recent research has also shown that EMDR helps to grown the hippocampus of the brain larger. EMDR can be applied to a wide range of mental health concerns, including addiction/substance use disorders including behavioral addictions. Please feel free to learn more at emdria.org.
