The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems.

She specializes in coping skills, depression, self-esteem, and anxiety. Amber completed her Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from Rochester College and received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. She maintains a person-centered, strength-based approach founded in evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing. She encourages a collaborative process while being creative and flexible with interventions depending on the unique needs of each individual. Amber believes that the therapeutic relationship is foundational to making progress, so she strives to provide a safe and accepting space that allows you to be yourself. Her intention is to stay alongside you, to provide compassionate feedback, and to support you as you work toward discovering the best way to move forward in your life.
