What does a first session with you look like?

I want each client I work with to feel that they have been heard and their concerns have been addressed. I work with clients to build a strong therapeutic relationship that honors each individual who has sought help for their concerns. I work with clients to build skills and process life events so that they can move forward.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I work from a strength-based perspective to build on skills and strengths clients already have. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients with anxiety and depression address the emotional impact of those disorders and improve their ability to engage with the world. Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (children adolescents), to help children and adolescents process and resolve any traumatic events in their lives, including abuse, neglect and foster care issues. I am also skilled in family therapy to address issues with parenting, communication, and family conflicts.
