What does a first session with you look like?
We will begin to build our therapeutic relationship together starting our first session. You will have the chance to experience the space to be safe, validating, non-judgmental, and empathetic. You will lead and I will follow and together we will work at making sense of your challenges. In each succeeding session, you will learn how to become more of an agent of your change and what that requires with the newly gained awareness achieved week to week.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
In session, I am present-focused and person-centered, addressing the needs you come to session with that you want support with. I also utilize skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) if that is something you would be interested in. For couples, I work from an Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) framework as well as a Mindful approach to Non-violent Communication (MNVC).
