After the first session, I usually like to explore your experience, and whether you feel that this will be a good match. Therapeutic rapport is essential and while it can take a while to build, I believe that the first session should be informative as far as defining some goals and how you hope to benefit from therapy. I also value transparency and want you to have information about me to help decide whether this is what you need. I also like to give clients a tool or suggestions so you can "sample" what I have to offer.

I utilize primarily talk therapy and a technique called integrative processing technique IPT for short. IPT is a modality which is a type of emotional release therapy which allows us to uncover the beliefs we carry from trauma that are informing our current thoughts and actions. After we uncover them, we revisit the events with corrective experience and replace these beliefs with more helpful ones. I often use guided imagery or emotional release through shapes and colors to provide space for new positive emotions.
