What does a first session with you look like?
Attentively listening to you is key to helping you find your healing path. I commence my sessions by learning about your family of origin, some history of who you are, and your reasons for seeking mental health care. Restating your disclosures is a technique I use to have you listen to yourself and begin identifying what path you and I, as your guide, will take to commence your healing. Once establishing your path, the goal will be to increase insight to your internal system of emotions, explore their purpose and benefit, and attach to any wounds that need healing.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I resort to an eclectic approach given the various clinical and non-clinical settings I experienced in professional development. I incorporate client-centered, family systems, dynamic, behavioral, mindfulness, cognitive, and validating methods to assist you in gaining insight.
