What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session will entail us getting to know each other and discussing initially what brought you to therapy. Moving forward, sessions will typically be weekly hour long sessions where we will explore your current circumstances, goals, barriers and the best way to get you to where you want to be. I hope my clients experience each session feeling like they were welcomed with warmth and compassion and leave feeling confident on their path to growth.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use motivational interviewing techniques to engage the clients I am working with and to help develop any needed discrepancy between what they are doing and what they say they want. I then use a variety of techniques and theories including CBT, Family systems, trauma and attachment and internal family systems in my work with clients.
