What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Ashley is a Resident in Counseling with specialties in Clinical Mental Health Counseling for couples and individuals. She got her B.S. of Psychology and Integrative Health from Virginia Tech and Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She helps her clients navigate the stressors in their lives and values building a connection with her clients and non-judgmental space that fosters growth. Ashley specifically works with individuals that have challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, active-duty military, life transitions, relationship/family issues, men's specific issues, social skills, ADHD, school avoidance, and transition from military to civilian employment. Ashley also provides couples counseling and specializes in military/first responder couples and couples who experience chronic health conditions or inter-abled couples. Ashley grounds her treatments in strengths-based perspectives because she believes in empowering people to strengthen their innate skills and enhance the systems they live in.
