What does a first session with you look like?

After your first session, treatment will lean heavily on psychoeducation, the development and strengthening of coping skills to manage symptoms, and the use of various techniques to instill a sense of mastery. As treatment progresses, you will become increasingly more adept in the synthesis and proper application of knowledge and skills to improve your condition and restore functioning. The final stages of treatment involve reflection, gratitude, and full restoration of your functioning and wellness. Session content centers upon the wisdom gained through your experience and the elevated perspective you will take with you after treatment ends.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I believe that most mental health diagnoses are rooted in trauma. Because trauma is stored in our minds, our bodies, and our hearts, the healing process demands an approach that integrates the psychospiritual and psychosomatic dimensions of trauma. My theoretical leanings include Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed approaches, and Exposure Therapies most commonly in the form of a trauma narrative.
