What does a first session with you look like?

If you or your child are in need of a therapeutic alliance where you/they feel understood, supported, and cared for, I believe my style and approach to therapy will be of interest to you. I welcome diverse ways in which to heal and find peace through mind, body, and spirit practices. I also encourage self-reflection, journaling, and opportunities for you to replicate and apply changes in your life outside of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

Through play therapy, I help children express what is going on in their world through toys, games, puppets, art, and literature. This approach is helpful for children who are exhibiting signs of sadness, worry, dealing with change, have ongoing stress, or that are in need of behavioral intervention frequently within the school, home, or community settings. I also enjoy incorporating expressive art techniques and other creative practices into the therapy process with teens and adolescents to help them feel more secure and confident in understanding themselves and developing an awareness of who they are. For young adults, I tend to love helping them identify their strengths to help discover their needs. I also enjoy using methods via storytelling, imagery, and art-making.
