What does a first session with you look like?
During the first session, we will review what prompted you to initiate therapy and what "therapy" means to you. This discussion will help me understand your needs, so I can ensure each session is helpful and meaningful moving forward. Overall, I want my clients to feel that they are getting from therapy exactly what they intended to. We will set goals based on how you would like to emotionally feel and think in the future.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is person-centered. I allow my clients to make each session their own; this is your time to 100% focus on yourself. Since I believe that the past shapes who we are and how we think, I will ask for you to share some of your childhood experiences and family dynamics. In therapy, I help my clients get to the root of the issue and then focus on what can be changed. We will set small, step-by-step goals that will eventually lead to significant changes.
