In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?

My personality helps guide a relaxed and non-traditional approach to therapy. Sessions with me do not follow a set formula. I’m here to walk with you through whatever life throws your way—the little moments, the big moments, and everything in between. I like to keep things relaxed and casual, so there’s no need to worry about sounding formal. I encourage you to speak openly and freely. Humor is always welcome and can help our time together feel comfortable. I’m always open to laughing alongside you when it feels right. If something doesn’t resonate or you want to try a different approach, just let me know! Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all process, and I believe it can—and should—be uniquely crafted to fit you. I’m all about collaborating with you to find what works best for your individual needs. Above all, I want you to feel at ease in a non-judgmental space where we can talk openly, explore what’s going on, and make progress together in a way that works for you.

In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?

My personal philosophy is deeply aligned with the core values of my therapeutic approach. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and change, which is why I prioritize unconditional positive regard, empathy, and compassion both in my professional work and in my personal life. These values guide how I connect with others, fostering authentic, supportive relationships where individuals feel safe to express themselves. Just as I encourage my clients to explore their experiences and navigate challenges with self-compassion, I strive to live with the same openness and respect for myself and those around me. This approach allows me to create an environment where growth, healing, and empowerment can truly take place.

What do you like about the practice or clinic you currently work at?

I greatly appreciate working at The Counseling Zebra, LLC because of its commitment to creating a truly inclusive and welcoming environment for all individuals. The practice’s social justice orientation and dedication to accepting all bodies, identities, and abilities make it a unique and safe space for clients from diverse backgrounds, including the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. This inclusive, non-traditional approach aligns closely with my own values of empathy, compassion, and respect for each person’s unique experience. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of a practice that prioritizes accessibility, authenticity, and empowerment for everyone who connects with us virtually.
