What does a first session with you look like?
Clients can expect an hour dedicated to their self-care while working on progressing with their mental health. They can expect to learn skills to help with distress tolerance and emotional regulation. I work with each client to develop a treatment plan tailored to their mental health goals. I like to give out homework and help all clients to establish weekly or bi-weekly goals.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize many evidence-based practices such as person-centered therapy; I feel like every client should have the autonomy to lead where they would like to go with their treatment. We can discuss what is on your mind and your short-term/long-term goals. Cognitive-Behavioral therapy is also a must when it comes to altering your perspective. I use solution-focused therapy for clients who want a problem-solving approach to their therapeutic services. I often implement meditation, psychoeducation, and journaling during treatment.
