What does a first session with you look like?
As a team, we will work together to pinpoint what to focus on. We will begin by identifying what works and doesn't work for you while we learn new coping skills! As we build rapport, we will touch on past events and trauma to reprocess them in a way that is most beneficial for you. The goal is always to help alleviate excess stress and increase emotional well-being.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
During a session, we will come up with a treatment plan together! We can discuss many different tools to use. I have found that a combination of talk therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness exercises is effective. We will work on positive imagery and self-talk, as well as different somatic exercises such as body scans and sensation exploration.
