What does a first session with you look like?
On your first session with me we will spend time getting to know one another. Specifically, I will ask questions about why you think this is a good time for therapy? How is your physical health? Have you ever had a mental health diagnosis? Do you take any medications? What was your childhood like? These are just a few examples of how I work to get a good well-rounded snap-shot of who you are! We will begin to start building the healthy therapeutic relationship that you deserve to have with your therapist in order to learn and grow!
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use mostly CBT, DBT, MI and person-centered treatments. These interventions are used to help you in the following ways: *connect your thoughts with your behaviors *help you learn to regulate your emotions *evaluate motivation for your behaviors and your progress *recognize that the most important part of your treatment is YOU
