What does a first session with you look like?
During the first session, I will get an inventory of who you are. I will listen to what you want to get out of our counseling sessions and build a treatment plan to help you reach your goals. The majority of your growth will happen outside of our sessions. I will provide you with tasks to complete or skills to practice, so be prepared to do the work. You build the life you want, I am along for the journey holding the map and helping you stay on the road.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I like to start by helping clients find hope that their situations can improve. I am solution-focused and trained in using cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, Gottman techniques, and mindfulness in sessions. I utilized the Gottman relationship check-up assessment for marriages and the PrepareEnrich assessment for pre-marital counseling.
