What does a first session with you look like?

Consistent and dedicated work with a therapist can result in significant improvements in your emotional well-being. You can expect to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You will learn new coping strategies for dealing with life's challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns. Over time, you will develop increased self-awareness and self-confidence, leading to improved relationships and overall satisfaction in life. Through our collaborative relationship, you can expect to make meaningful progress in overcoming your mental health concerns and leading a happier, more fulfilling life.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) would focus on the connection between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, with the goal of identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and developing new, healthier coping mechanisms. Mindfulness-based therapy incorporates mindfulness practices into the therapeutic process to help clients develop greater awareness of the present moment and reduce stress and anxiety. A person-centered approach would rely on your capacity for self-understanding and growth. Motivational interviewing is a client-centered, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change behavior. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of therapy that integrates cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches.
