What does a first session with you look like?
Hello, congratulations on beginning a process whereby you can expect to learn and grow and heal. I am very honored to have been a vital part of this experience for many adults couples and teens. I believe that each of us possesses already much of what we need to heal and grow. I acknowledge that we may have other experiences or information or beliefs or ideas that block us from accessing these strengths and resources already within us. Had other times there are skills or assets that need to be learned or brought to bear to move beyond what is causing our distress. It has been my experience that cognitive behavioral as well as some experiential strategies are very helpful in a fairly quick fashion when leaving a variety of distress. I MA able to help people access these tools and learn them
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I lean heavily on cognitive behavioral modalities as well as mindfulness and experiential therapies such as guided imagery, progressive relaxation, cognitive rehearsal, and related strategies. I also look first at where a person is and what tools they already have, with the idea of using that which is familiar to them and what is strong to build toward their desired destination.
