What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. The past few years have been challenging for all of us, as we try to navigate this collective trauma. It's been difficult, I get it. Let's work together at helping you establish a balance and gain control of your life again.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Brianda Diaz de Leon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 5 years of experience working with teens, adults, and seniors who are looking for assistance and support in processing trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, chronic stress, life transitional issues, grief, loss, and divorce. She provides a judgment-free space for her clients to unpack and process their trauma, fear, anxiety, and complex emotions. Brianda earned her Master's degree in Social work from the University of Texas Arlington. Brianda likes to teach her clients grounding techniques, encouraging them to center their bodies and their feeling in their bodies. Some of these grounding techniques include breathing techniques and practicing mindfulness. She specializes in empowering, adolescents, adults, and families to be the best version of themselves. Brianda helps her clients to be true to themselves and find a balance that honors every aspect of their lives that is true and important to them. Every person has a unique personality and philosophy on life, which is why she believes that every person needs a unique treatment plan. Together, you'll use a trauma-informed, culturally humble, client-centered, strengths-based approach to discover your hidden resources and skills to bring you new insights, peace of mind, and improved quality of life. Brianda will adjust this plan as needed, to make sure it is always working for you. Beginning therapy can feel similar to taking a trip to an unknown destination with someone you don t know well yet. As your therapist, Brianda's goal is to provide a genuine, safe, trusting, non-judgmental environment for you to explore and gain greater knowledge of yourself.
