What does a first session with you look like?
I as a Clinician work on the presupposition that we are all one-of-a-kind, original masterpieces and should be valued as such. Each Client and each session is treated as a separate piece of the whole of the Client's unique life experience. After each session, a Client should have new revelations about themselves and how their thoughts, attitudes and emotions may be triggering behaviors and actions along their path through life. Each session should give them new healthy and helpful tools to manage stressors and distress with a win-win in mind for the solution. each session should be a building block toward their desired goal and future goals.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association, Fifth Edition Text Revision (DSM-5-TR) to make clinical diagnoses. I work with a variety of disorders including but not limited to mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, and disorders first diagnosed in childhood such as oppositional defiant disorder, and ADHD. Furthermore, I also work with individuals and families dealing with common life experiences such as death, grief, academic issues, occupational issues, relationship issues, parenting problems, and social interaction difficulties. The methods and theories I use are eclectic and include but are not limited to CBT, TF-CBT, ACT, MI, among others.
