What does a first session with you look like?
The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. What is your style/approach to therapy?
I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a person-centered clinician, I am passionate about providing therapy to individuals who need help navigating through their internal struggles.

She utilizes a person-center approach to treat adults, families, and couples that need help cultivating the life and relationships they desire. Candace specializes in trauma, depression, family/relationship issues, marital conflicts, codependency, life stressors/transitions, anxiety, grief, and women's issues. Candace earned a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at South University. She has 22 years of experience working in the medical field, which provided the knowledge of helping clients address their internal struggles. This, coupled with vast experience in helping individuals with major psychiatric illnesses, enables her to provide the necessary tools to help clients explore and navigate through their thoughts and feelings while providing tools for emotional freedom. Candace utilizes evidenced-based treatment approaches including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, family therapy, strength-based therapy, and mindfulness. She values the fact that each client's needs are unique, so she utilizes an eclectic approach when it best serves the client therapeutically. Life has times of forwarding uncertainties and challenges that impact us emotionally, so it is vital to connect with a therapist you can trust. Candace is that therapist, as she prides herself on building a connection and rapport and collaborating with her clients.
