Under Clinical Supervision

Carl Brown, Resident, 123 is practicing under the supervision of Joy Book (Virginia, LPC, 701007994) at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Chesterfield.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As an LPC-Resident with 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I would like to help you move past barriers that keep you from being the best you can be, through our work together you will be empowered to make the changes needed to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
