What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Carmen Getty, LCPC Carmen Getty is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Maryland who started practicing in 1990. She has a background in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Counseling, including Addiction Counseling and Substance Use Disorder. Carmen believes in a treatment approach that incudes motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, and solution focus therapy among others. She incorporates evidence practice models, CBT, DBT, ACT, and Trauma-informed models. In her spare time, Carmen enjoys traveling, visiting new places, going to museums, learning new languages, dancing, walking, swimming, and crafting.
