What is your style/approach to therapy?

My approach to longer therapy is multi-faceted. It is informed by Cognitive Behavioral & Dialectical Behavior Therapies, but I have also been trained in other evidenced based treatments, such as, (ACT)-Acceptance Commitment Therapy, IFS-(Internal Family Systems), and EFT-(Emotion Focused Therapy). When connecting with a client, I use a lot of Mindfulness-Based principles. I respect every client’s uniqueness and use the therapies that work best for each one.

What does a first session with you look like?

Clients can expect from the start that they are the most important component to therapy, that I will take time to earn their trust. They can expect that I will be warm, empathetic and nonjudgmental in my approach, as well as directive. I expect that clients will know that I want them to get/feel better and that one day they will no longer need me.
