What does a first session with you look like?
Recovering from trauma requires an individualized approach I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership. Imagine that you and I are traveling in a car. You're in the driver's seat deciding where you want to go and I'm sitting in the passenger's seat helping you navigate. Cultural humility and valuing the lived experience and wisdom of my clients are central to my practice. My map is eclectic (and informed by my identity as a Black asexual cis woman) and includes well-researched modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and ideas that you bring to the table.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
