I am a Christian counselor and I utilize many tools to help you find a solution that best meets your needs. Some of the methods include active listening, solution-focused (problem-solving) approach, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Biblical counseling, assessment, and diagnosis. For marriage counseling clients I use attachment-based approaches such as emotion-focused therapy and the Gottman Method as well as Biblical counseling.

During your first session, you may experience some relief by sharing your experiences with a neutral person who is interested in what you have to share. However, keep in mind the first couple of sessions tend to be data collecting and fact-finding in nature. After the first couple of sessions, we will begin to develop a relationship and establish a plan for moving forward. You can expect me (your counselor) to listen to you, be honest with you, protect your privacy, have your interest and wellbeing at heart, challenge you to do hard things, and help you find a solution that best meets the needs of your situation.
