I use number of screening tools to guide progress over time. I often encourage clients to pursue therapy with a trained therapist to do the internal work that may be needed. In terms of medication, my approach is typically “less is more.” However, if more is what's needed, then that is what we do. Initially, we will meet fairly often (usually monthly) when adjusting medications. Once on a stable regimen, we spread out follow-up appointments to every 3-4 months, depending on circumstances.

Our first visit will be a brief, complimentary session to explore whether we can have a 'good therapeutic fit.' Once we begin our work together, it will be clear to you that I am truly interested in understanding you as a whole person. A diagnosis is just that: A diagnosis. It is not a label or an identity; it is a small fraction of the person sitting in front of me. As we work together, I will ask and listen carefully to understand what is happening with you with all its nuances. I will encourage a collaborative approach to your treatment: There is no point is making recommendations you do not support. I also strongly believe in the mind, body, and spirit interconnection and utilize lifestyle and mindfulness as a powerful tools.
