What does a first session with you look like?
Clients can expect me to be honest and straight forward, while also being empathetic and understanding. Clients will feel challenged but heard. My goal is for you to walk away from sessions feeling confident and capable of tackling life's challenges. You won't hear a lot of flowery "therapist talk" in sessions. You can expect a laid back atmosphere where it's ok to acknowledge that sometimes life just sucks.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
No 2 clients are the same, so I tailor my methods to meet the needs of each individual. I tend to mainly utilize behavior therapies and a solution-focused approach. I also utilize skills training and symptom management skills. I pull from several modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and others.
