What does a first session with you look like?

Clients can expect a down to earth, empathic, individualized and focused therapy session with me. Sessions are a safe place of trust and understanding where one's unique strengths are highlighted and utilized in healing. I strive to listen reflectively, meaning it is very important to me that I make sure I am clearly understanding how my clients understand and feel about what they choose to bring to a session.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I take trauma seriously and understand that the same experience can affect each individual vastly differently. I utilize trauma-focused cognitive-behavior therapy (TF-CBT), attachment-based approaches, internal family systems (IFS) work and I hold a master’s degree, specialized training and credentialing as an art therapist and with expressive intervention. I also have training in play therapy techniques and sandtray therapy. I introduce and propose ideas and methods in ways that work best for each person’s individuality, and we only use what feels right to the client.
