What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I enjoy helping others learn how to better cope with anxiety and life stressors.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Charlotte Kelsey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts with over 3 years of experience providing clinical assessment and care to adult clients seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, and life transitions.Charlotte s passion for therapy started during her time as a patient care technician in a hospital trauma unit. Much of her time was spent at patients bedsides, listening to their stories. It was this experience that led Charlotte to complete her Master of Science degree in mental health counseling at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. As a clinician, she provides a person-centered approach to therapy with a focus on mindfulness-based, cognitive behavioral (CBT), and solutions-focused treatment. She is a steady advocate for sex positivity and a committed ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. She listens without judgment and strives to provide a place for individuals seeking a safer space. Charlotte is adaptable in her method and pays close attention to each individual s needs. She fully believes collaborative care is essential in supporting one s goals and values in life.
