What does a first session with you look like?

**Cash-Pay Intake is $110; Subsequent Follow-Up Cash-Pay Sessions are $80** At first session, you can expect to review the intake form you've submitted so that I can be sure I have a clear picture and full understanding about you as a person. Intake forms are a helpful rubric, but no form can fully articulate all that makes you "you." As we begin our work together, we will begin building trust and developing the dynamic that works best. One universal expectation of therapy is that you will need to find ways to bring therapy out of the office. There are 168 hours in a week, and you and I get one. If you're not sure what that looks like, we can figure out what works for you. Once we have figured out how we work together best, we will be in a place to hone in on unraveling the tangle.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My approach is client-focused, and the relationship between you and I influences the methods and approaches I use. I pull from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal frameworks most often, with other specific tools or exercises appropriate to your unique needs. I tend to naturally lean to a nondirective approach, but feel comfortable with being more directive. I am not a highly-confrontational therapist, but you can expect that I may gently push or challenge what feels comfortable if we discover a roadblock to your growth and success. In these instances, I welcome you to express any concerns you have so we can work through it together. I understand getting pushed can feel scary or uncomfortable, so let's unpack it!
