What does a first session with you look like?
You can expect an open and honest experienced counselor. Who is genuinely interested in your success. I hope that you will leave each session with a direction and plan that you are confident in accomplishing. To do this I will work alongside you through the process. At the end of each session, I want you to leave feeling heard and knowing that the progress you make is through your effort and choices.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My 10 years as a counselor have taught me that the best counseling model is one that is directed by you and your specific needs. To help you accomplish this I have trained in a variety of methods to be ready to assist you, some of these include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Biblical counseling, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Play therapy, Solution-focused brief therapy, family systems, certified cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and more.
