What is your style/approach to therapy?
I like to use an eclectic style of therapy. I pull from different treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy to bring psychoeducation to the table and help my clients change negative thoughts to more positive thoughts through using a step by step guide. Furthermore I like to use Reality and Structural therapy. I recommend Behavior Activation and a small step by step plan through homework to help my client to take realistic steps toward making progress.
What does a first session with you look like?
Clients can expect to receive validation and empathy from myself as I work to better understand what brings that particular person to therapy. I take the time to make sure that my therapy approach and experience is a good fit to help my unique clients with different problems they want to work through. Clients can get a rough idea of different clinical interventions I will use to for the sessions to come to address therapy goals.
