What does a first session with you look like?
In session, the client is encouraged to take the reins while the therapist acts mainly as a guide with a non-judgmental view that includes a genuine empathic approach. We will explore the therapeutic approach that best fits the goals that you want to achieve.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I believe we all can work on our challenging intrusive thoughts and we will approach this from a CBT way if needed. In addition, mindfulness and spirituality can be very powerful. I like to include DBT and ACT model methods which include mindfulness approaches to help a person experience balance in life. If trauma needs addressing then we can use EMDR to focus on challenging memories and replace them with current thoughts that reduce our disturbance of the past.
