What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. My drive is to empower you to thrive -- a meaning that can only be defined by you. We will work together to understand and establish this meaning as a foundation for your healing process.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Christin Wagner is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 6 years of experience in the mental health field. She is passionate about helping others on their journey through healing to thrive in a way that resonates with the client. Christin specializes in trauma, anxiety, addiction, and depression. Christin completed her Master of Science at Chestnut Hill College with a focus on Trauma Studies. Professionally, she has worked in a variety of care areas including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment. All of this experience enables Christin to better understand the unique needs of any individual, to provide the necessary support, and connect to resources one may need in their course of healing. Christin's treatment approach has foundations in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with additional training to competently apply acceptance and commitment, dialectal behavioral, and motivational interviewing techniques. The process of healing is unique to each person and there is no one "right" way to do it. Christin is confident that she will be able to support you as you follow your unique path, impart the skills and guidance necessary to overcome obstacles you may face, and empower you to tackle future challenges. Wherever you may be on your journey, support makes all the difference -- schedule an appointment with her today.
