What does a first session with you look like?
Initially, I work with a client to clarify their goals for their time spent in therapy. I assist clients to identify what is most important to them and how to formulate a plan to reach their goals while progressing toward resolution of past issues and growth toward their short-term and long-term therapeutic goals. Clients will take away from our sessions new tools and strategies to assist them to address their concerns while growing a fortified sense of self and peace stemming from the resolution of internal and external stressors.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Strength Based Therapies. I include homework assignments and bibliotherapy assignments for the client to complete and bring to our next session to enhance the therapeutic process. In addition, I am a Christian therapist and I am happy to include Christian concepts during therapy sessions at the client's request.
