What does a first session with you look like?

Upon our first meeting we will review some basics associated with the beginning therapy and covering legal aspects in addition to confidentiality. After that I really like for you to be able to tell me what it is that you would want to be working on from the beginning. Together from there we can explore what therapy goals look like and what some of the important aspects to you are about understanding what it is for you to wake each morning feeling good and confident in who you are. I do send homework most weeks to be able to help you in achieving your goals, those homework assignments can be all types of things from going on nature walks to reading and responding to corresponding worksheets. My goal is to make you feel confident in who you are without additional validation from anyone else

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My most common treatment method is cognitive behaivorial therapy which examines the relationship between how we think and feel and how we behave. Sometimes distortions and past difficulties can cloud our heads when thinking about a current situation. I want to be able to help in letting you learn how to listen to your true and rational thoughts to give you the ability to respond in all types of situations, as opposed to reacting to those situations. When you get to choose your response, and not have a reaction in which you might later regret, it gives you the confidence and feelings of self-worth that most of us crave in our lives.
