What does a first session with you look like?

In our first session I look forward to meeting you and hearing all about you! We will discuss your goals, what you would like to achieve from therapy, and we will develop a treatment plan specific to you and to best meet your needs. We will continue with weekly follow up sessions using cognitive-behavioral therapy to identify learned, unhelpful thought patterns and restructure these to support your wellbeing. We will also use mindfulness-based stress reduction to develop coping skills to support emotional wellness and relaxation. Therapy is a collaborative, ongoing process. This means I will maintain an open and safe therapeutic setting for you to comfortably express your needs and to provide feedback to most effectively support your treatment. I'm here for you.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I value a client-centered orientation to embrace each unique person and to individualize treatment to most effectively support accomplishing your goals. I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, behavior-modification, and play therapy. I dynamically use these therapeutic approaches to cultivate growth by focusing care for your specific needs.
