What does a first session with you look like?

From our initial session together onward, you can expect for me to take the time to hear you, get to know you, and develop treatment goals to work towards together. I will work with you at your pace while also giving you the push you may need to take bigger steps towards change as needed. Together, we will identify the strengths and resiliency qualities you already possess that will help you tackle any challenge and assist you long after therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): I use this to assist individuals with identifying those negative and irrational beliefs and thought processes that may be hindering their success, and work on reshaping those into more positive and productive beliefs and thoughts. Using CBT, I also strongly believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and aim to build a strong and supportive relationship with my client to promote better therapeutic outcomes. Person-Centered Therapy: I also use this to empower clients to take charge of their own life and well-being. It is important for the client to be active in their own therapy and work together with the therapist to build the life they desire. You are not defined by a diagnosis and I want you to feel respected and in control.
