What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a woman (mother, spouse, daughter) that has experienced many of my own struggles with mental and physical health I feel that I have the unique ability to see situations from a lot of different angles and offer understanding not just as a professional but as a person.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Cindy Watson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 11+ years of experience in the mental health field. Cindy is passionate about helping individuals, families, and couples find the coping skills and tools that they need to find the happiness and peace that they so desperately want and deserve. Her goal is to help them turn the stumbling blocks they have come against into the stepping stones that lead them across the muck. Cindy specializes in trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Cindy graduated with her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Walla Walla University in 2011. Cindy has had the unique opportunity to have a blended family and went through the adoption process. She has also worked with children who are being reunified with their families after removal, but also as a foster parent who adopted those children. When it comes to relationships and family situations, Cindy is very knowledgeable both personally and professionally. She uses many different types of modalities and is eclectic. Cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy are her go-tos. Cindy is confident that she will be able to help you find the path through the trials that you are currently struggling with. Everyone has things that they struggle with; it is simply a matter of learning how to use those struggles as stepping stones to take us where we want to go instead of allowing them to cause us to stumble and fall. If you are ready to start the journey to your peace and happiness, schedule an appointment with Cindy today.
