The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I believe we are all on a unique journey. You are the expert on your life. I'm here to help you explore and determine the path that is best for you.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Dr. Corrie Minges is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Since 2006, Corrie has worked as a counselor in Louisiana, Kansas, and Virginia.She has over 10 years of experience and is skilled in working with diverse age groups and socio-economic populations, including service members, military families, and dual-diagnosis clients. Corrie completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) inFamily and Consumer Sciences andChild, Family, and Social Services; as well as her Master of Arts (MA) in Psychological Counseling atNicholls State University. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Counselor Education at theUniversity of New Orleans. Corrie practices counseling from a humanist perspective. She firmly believes that every client is the expert on their lives. Corrie provides a safe, nonjudgmental space for the client to explore and find the direction that is best for his or her life. She views counseling as a partnership and works to tailor her counseling sessions to best meet the needs of her clients.
